The Bay Island Driftwood Museum is India’s only dedicated driftwood / fossil wood museum, located in Kumarakom, Kottayam district.It’s a unique museum that showcases sculptures and art pieces made from driftwood that’s been naturally shaped by the seaIt was founded by Mrs. Raji Punnoose, a retired school teacher who spent a significant part of her career in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. During her time there, she used to collect pieces of driftwood that washed up on beaches—tree roots, stumps, trunks, etc.
Aruvikkuzhi Waterfalls
It is in Kottayam district, Kerala, near Pallickathode, about 18-20 km from Kottayam town. The waterfall is about 100 feet high, cascading down over rocks in multiple small streams. It flows in five steps. It is active primarily during the monsoon (June-November). In summer it tends to dry up quite significantly. Surrounded by rubber plantations, lush greenery; there are treks, nature trails around.
